I really enjoy Katie MacAlister's take on the vampires and the realm of their world. She makes them entertaining, sexy and as all typical men, hardheaded and obstinate! All of her stories intertwine, but each book is strong on it's own. This is a fun, entertaining book for the young adult and above. I'm in my 50's and I loved it!
Again, MacAlister made me laugh out loud and roll my eyes at the same time.

Bring Out Your Dead (Dark Ones Novels) is an oldie but a goodie. Published in 2006, republished in 2010, I don't know how I missed this one. It's loaded with lovable, laughable characters imps, zombies, an annoying spirit guide that so totally butchers the French language. An equally annoying child vamp, and...oh yeah, a hunky vampire that keeps calling MacAlister's protagonist, Ysabelle,( yeah, I said Ysabelle. Where the hell does Katie come up with the names? The name alone makes me giggle) his Beloved. And if you have ever read MacAlister you know what that means. Silly sex, crazy situations, and someone has to help someone get his soul back, following those silly steps - and still I laugh. But...

...in Bring Out Your Dead the zombies steal the show. Action packed, the dialogue is fast-paced and laugh out loud funny. Yep, those dead guys have all the best lines.

When I need a break, just want to laugh out loud and roll my eyes a lot, I pick up a MacAlister novel. This one's a keeper.

I gave it 4 out of 5, because it is what it is Everything I expected it to be.

Katie MacAlister is one of my favorite authors. Her books are almost always funny easy reads. The beginning of this book was a bit confusing and the characters were less appealing than the other characters that she has created. It was not a bad story but definitely not as good as what I'm use to reading from Ms. MacAlister.
What can I say but wow. I had this book sitting in my kindle and didnt read it till last night and let me tell you I did NOT put it down. I just love the Dark Ones I have all the books I just dont know why it took me so long to get to this one .. It made me laugh its fast paced and a total great read . So if you want a fun, fast, awesome book with Demon Lords, Imps and Zombies hahaha Oh cant forget the Ghost then get this book you wont regret it <3 My Only regret was it was over too soon.

You have to sometimes read just to satisfy your curiosity regarding certain characters. This was such a book. This book if it had had no series to attach itself to would be barely worth the read. It was like even the author was bored.
If you HAVE to know about what happens to each character in the series then read this book. Otherwise. a dentist visit would be more fun.
I haven't laughed this much since reading Patrick McManus. The zombies are wonderfully funny, the heroine adorable, and that Sebastian? Impressive! Ysabelle is adorable and I love her business. Her sidekicks and other characters are really fun. Very cool idea all around. I had a great time reading this story and have found a new author to love.
and supernatural elements. It was a fairly short book but she made it a complete story. She told it in bits and pieces throughout the book and by the end of the book we knew what we needed to know and for the story to come to a great conclusion. I’ll be watching for her books from now on.
